My Global Learning Space 🌍

Hi, I’m Nasrawaris- you can call me Waris. I am Globally Curious second year Biology student at TRU. My goal is to explain science like chai recipes and survive university using caffeine, curiosity, and chaos.

Land Acknowledgement : As an uninvited settler living, learning, and volunteering in Kamloops, I respectfully acknowledge that I study and grow on the unceded and traditional territory of the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc, within Secwépemc’ulucw.
I’m grateful to learn here – and I promise to keep doing better, listening more, and not touching anything in the lab that says “Do Not Touch.”

Who am I ? 🧕🤓

Future global healthcare professional who believes science should help everyone – not just people who can pronounce “biology.” Community volunteer who somehow ends up in every TRU event… by accident and on purpose. Intercultural communicator because working at Rexall means talking to people from 20+ cultures every day. STEM mentor who teaches kids science using stories, jokes, and the occasional dramatic demonstration of experiments (with voice effects).

What I Value 💙

Respect & Inclusion – If you’re a human being, you deserve kindness.

Cultural Curiosity – I love learning from people who don’t think, speak, or cook like me.

Sustainability – I recycle, reduce plastic, and try very hard not to waste lab gloves.

Community Impact – Whether it’s STEM outreach or TRU events, I’m there making chaos… or a CHANGE.

My Superpowers 🦸‍♀️

Using creativity to solve problems (and to make boring topics fun). Turning global issues into “okay, this makes sense now” moments. Communicating respectfully with literally anyone, including children who keep asking “why.”- what else is a better way to learn ? Adjusting my teaching style for every culture, classroom, and chaos-level.
